In the Lok Sabha, PM Modi defends the repeal of Article 370 and outlines its advantages.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reminded the opposition during a speech in the Lok Sabha of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) resolute action in rescinding Article 370, which ended Jammu and Kashmir’s special status. He underlined that this action has brought to regional stability, pointing out that episodes of stone-pelting have stopped and that the state as a whole now has faith in the Indian tricolor and the Constitution. “It was the era of 370 when stone-pelting used to happen,” Modi said. The wall of 370 has collapsed today. The stone-throwing has ceased.

In his response to the Motion of Thanks on the President’s Address, Modi emphasized the hard position his administration takes against terrorism and the Indian practice of carrying out precision strikes to neutralize threats. He said that his administration takes strong measures against terrorist activities and compared the actions of the previous administration to those taken before to 2014.

When defending his government’s stance on “Justice to All, Appeasement to None,” Modi criticized earlier appeasement strategies. Based on its ten-year track record, he asserted that the Indian voter has trusted the BJP, saying, “The people of India have entrusted us with the responsibility to serve 140 crore citizens.”

In a related development, Prime Minister Modi challenged the opposition to reinstate Article 370 during a speech in Udhampur, claiming that the BJP had buried its history profoundly. He emphasized how things have improved in Jammu and Kashmir since the abrogation, pointing out a notable decline in both cross-border gunfire and terrorism. Positive developments like the cessation of stone-pelting and the increasing advancements in the fields of infrastructure, education, and health were highlighted by Modi.

He mentioned impending assembly elections while providing assurances that the federal government is dedicated to giving Jammu and Kashmir its independence back. Modi also attacked regional parties, citing the benefits that Article 370’s abrogation has given to many marginalized people in the region and accusing them of disseminating misleading narratives about the law. These parties included the National Conference and the Peoples Democratic Party.

In conclusion, PM Modi chastised opposition parties, emphasized the benefits of repealing Article 370, and pledged to continue restoring democracy in Jammu and Kashmir in his remarks to the Lok Sabha and Udhampur.
